Emirates will reroute its services from Christchurch to Auckland via Bangkok through the deployment of its A380 double-deckers. Emirates will cease serving Christchurch from Bangkok, re-routing to Auckland instead as part of its revised Thailand-New Zealand connection. Its current service from Bangkok to Christchurch, also via Sydney, will be terminated to reflect travel demand between Thailand and New Zealand. Emirates links Bangkok with its Dubai hub via 42 weekly flights, and Phuket to Dubai with 11 flights per week. Emirates has a weekly cargo capacity of 750 tonnes each way in the belly-hold of the passenger aircraft serving Thailand.
